A 38-year-old man who was fatally shot in Long Beach was identified Monday.
Officers received a report of a shooting about 1 a.m. Friday and responded to the 700 of block of Magnolia Avenue, east of Edison Elementary School, where they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
They rendered aid until Long Beach Fire Department paramedics arrived and pronounced the man dead, police said.
He was identified Monday by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner as Ali Muhammad Azim, who sustained a gunshot wound to the upper body.
No suspects were at the scene when officers arrived.
