Two people suffered non-life-threatening injuries Tuesday when a car-hauling big rig slammed into a two-story apartment building in Panorama City.

The crash occurred around 2:20 p.m. in the 8900 block of Van Nuys Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
According to reports from the scene, the driver of the truck lost control of the vehicle while traveling south on Van Nuys Boulevard, causing it to hit the apartment building. At least five parked vehicles were also struck by the truck before it jumped the curb and struck the building.
LAFD spokeswoman Lyndsey Lantz said Building and Safety officials were called to the scene to assess the structure’s stability and determine whether the building could be safely occupied.
A gas line was also ruptured during the collision.
