A 29-year-old registered sex offender who was previously convicted of indecent exposure-related offenses was arrested for allegedly exposing himself and masturbating inside his vehicle while asking a woman for directions in Burbank, police said Wednesday.
Officers responded at about noon July 28 to the 2700 block of West Magnolia Boulevard after receiving reports from a woman of a man exposing himself, according to the Burbank Police Department.
The suspect had fled the scene by the time officers arrived, but the woman provided police with the suspect’s license plate number.
The suspect was later identified as Ernesto Reyes of Reseda. Automated license plate readers and video camera systems helped officers locate the vehicle and arrest the suspect within an hour of the offense, police said. He was arrested and booked on suspicion of indecent exposure with prior convictions.
He was subsequently charged with a felony count of indecent exposure, to which he pleaded not guilty, according to court records.
He was released on bond, but is due back in court in Pasadena on Friday for a bail review hearing.
