A woman in a motorized wheelchair was struck by a pickup and seriously injured in Lancaster, authorities said Thursday.
The crash was reported at 10:42 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of 17th Street West and West Avenue K-8, according to the watch commander at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lancaster Station.
Witnesses told a videographer at the scene that the woman was dragged a substantial distance and ended up beneath the front of the vehicle.
The victim was taken to Antelope Valley Medical Center, but an update on her condition was not immediately available.
