A juvenile was killed and five other people were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Perris, including one who remained hospitalized in critical condition Sunday.
The crash was reported around 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Rider Street and Ramona Expressway, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Responding deputies found five occupants injured in one of the vehicles– two suffering from life-threatening injuries — and the driver and sole occupant of the second vehicle also injured.
All involved people were rushed to hospitals.
A juvenile passenger was later pronounced dead while at the hospital, and a second juvenile passenger remained hospitalized in critical condition Sunday, according to the sheriff’s department.
Identifying information on the juvenile who was killed was not immediately available.
The sheriff’s Perris station Traffic Reconstruction Team assumed the investigation. As of Sunday, no arrests had been made and the cause of the crash remained under investigation.
