An 85-year-old man who went missing earlier this month in South Los Angeles, prompting a Silver Alert, was found, authorities said Tuesday.
Clarence Gilbert had been last seen Aug. 1 in the area of West 74th and Main streets, according to the California Highway Patrol, which activated the alert on behalf of the Los Angeles Police Department.
Information on how and where Gilbert was located was not immediately available.
The CHP activates a Silver Alert when an elderly or developmentally or cognitively impair person goes missing and is determined to be at-risk to help them be recovered more quickly.
