A 28-year-year-old man suspected of possessing a firearm during a road rage incident was arrested, authorities said Friday.

Henry Rodriguez of Indio was booked into Benoit Detention Center in Indio on suspicion of multiple weapons-related charges, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

Bail information was not immediately available.

Deputies from the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station Robbery and Burglary Suppression Team received a report of an Indio man who was in possession of a firearm during a road rage on Tuesday, according to Sgt. Jack Rutigliano.

Details behind the road rage incident were not provided.

Authorities served a search warrant the following day at Rodriguez’s residence in the 48000 block of Monroe Street in Indio, where they allegedly found “an additional unregistered handgun was located, along with multiple firearms, body armor, high-capacity magazines and ammunition,” Rutigliano said.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the same area, where Rodriguez was taken into custody without incident. Authorities allegedly found an unregistered handgun in the vehicle.

The investigation was ongoing, and anyone with additional information regarding the case was asked to call 760-836-1600.
