The death of a pedestrian in a collision in Palmdale was under investigation Saturday.
The victim was hit by a white Hyundai Genesis around 7 p.m. Friday near 40836 W. 20th St., a California Highway Patrol spokesperson said.
The pedestrian was later identified as Concepcion Atkins, 77, according to the Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office.
Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel responded to the collision and pronounced Atkins dead at the scene, the CHP said.
Both ends of West 20th Street were reopened as of 12:06 a.m. Saturday, according to the CHP.
No further information was immediately available.
