Fox will rerun the seventh season premiere of “MasterChef Junior” at 9 p.m. Saturday evening with 11-year-old Malia Brauer of Newhall among the 24 contestants who will initially cook a breakfast dish.

The home cooks aged 8 to 13 will next attempt to transform three classic school lunch dishes — meatloaf, a quesadilla and chicken tenders — into restaurant-quality cuisine.

One contestant will be eliminated after each dish.

On the second episode, which will be rerun at 7 p.m. Sunday, the contestants will cook a lobster dish for the first time in the series’ history, picking a live lobster out of a tank and killing it. They will also be divided into teams of four to make as many perfect banana splits as possible in a limited amount of time.

In later episodes during the 15-episode season, contestants will prepare a meal for 51 circus performers and compete to see which team can first roll out a perfect sheet of pasta to a length of 24 feet.

The series is partnering with the international nonprofit organization Feed the Children on a 30-day donation campaign, End Hunger: Dare to Donate, and a three-week social media campaign to bring awareness to childhood hunger across the nation.

The winner will receive $100,000.
