A worldwide Islamic group with a center in Los Angeles Monday will mark the end of Ramadan by delivering thousands of food items and care packages to homeless people and veterans in need, VA hospitals and low-income frontline families. .
The M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi School of Islamic Sufism in Reseda will distribute more than 500 care packages to the Salvation Army Bell Lighthouse Corps. in the City of Bell. The care packages will contain items including clothing, hats/beanies, face masks, food items and personal hygiene products, the M.T.O. said in a news release.
All 35 M.T.O. centers around the world including the U.K., Canada, Spain, Germany and 14 U.S. states will host similar drives.
The Los Angeles drive will take place at 11 a.m. at 18011 Sherman Way.
At 10 a.m. a special Instagram Live Tamarkoz (Sufi Meditation) session will be broadcast from the M.T.O. Los Angeles center. This session will provide specific meditation and relaxation techniques to provide stress management and assist in reducing anxiety as the COVID-19 pandemic continues.
