A fifth-grade student from the Menifee Union School District will represent the district in the Riverside County Spelling Bee in March, the MUSD announced Sunday.
Elijah Decano won the 2024 District Spelling Bee, which was held Thursday at Evans Ranch Elementary school.
A total of 38 students participated in the competition, navigating 10 challenging rounds and spelling a total of 102 words, according to the MUSD.
Karla Carapia from Menifee Valley Middle School was listed as second-place winner.
The Riverside County Spelling Bee champion was scheduled for March 28.
