A brush fire broke out in Val Verde Thursday, burning approximately 100 acres of vegetation as firefighters worked to contain the blaze.
Crews responded around 1:40 p.m. to the 28100 block of Chiquito Canyon Road, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The fire was elevated to a second alarm, but no structures were reported threatened, fire officials said
