Two people were found dead after firefighters put out a fire at a home in Blythe, authorities said.

The blaze was reported around 11 a.m. Sunday in the 200 block of S. Colorado River Road, according to Blythe Police Department, which added that the home was fully engulfed in flames.

The agency said nearby neighbors attempted to rescue those inside but were unable to enter the residence due to the extent of the fire.

Firefighters at the scene extinguished the fire, and determined that it did “not appear to be suspicious,” police said.

Two people were found dead inside the residence. They were not identified pending notification of next of kin.

Anyone with information about the blaze was urged to contact Blythe police at 760-922-6111.
