A brush fire that broke out Monday on the perimeter of the Cleveland National Forest south of Corona charred nearly two acres before it was stopped.
The non-injury blaze was reported shortly after 11 a.m. near the Eagle Glen Golf Club, west of Birdie Drive, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency said that multiple engine crews from the county and Corona Fire Department were sent to the location and encountered flames moving at a slow rate through thick brush.
No homes or other structures were threatened.
With assistance from a Cal Fire water-dropping helicopter, firefighters halted the brusher’s forward rate of spread at 11:50 a.m., according to reports from the scene.
A few minutes later, the blaze was almost completely encircled, officials said.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
