Compton Fire Department firefighters knocked down an intense blaze that leveled a residence in Compton, the fire department said Tuesday.
Fire crews responded at approximately 10:30 p.m. Monday to the 1100 block of East Glencoe Street north of South Burris Avenue, where they found the home engulfed in flames, ABC 7 reported.
Firefighters deployed hose lines and began ventilating the residence as the fire ripped through the windows, the roof and front door of the home before they extinguished the blaze, according to reports from the scene.
KABC reported the home was destroyed in the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
