Orange County Fire Authority crews were actively patrolling the fire line in Carbon Canyon as flames blaze Sunday evening.
Evacuation warnings, however, were lifted earlier in the day in Brea, where a brush fire burned at least 200 acres before firefighters got the upper hand.
The fire was reported about 1:35 p.m. Saturday in the area of Carbon Canyon Road and Olinda Place, near Carbon Canyon Regional Park, according to the Orange County Fire Authority. That prompted warnings that residents of Olinda Village and Hollydale Mobile Home Estates should prepare to evacuate, and later evacuation warnings were given for El Rodeo Stables and Brea Hills.
Firefighters attacked the fire from the air and ground, officials said.
The OCFA reported just after 6 p.m. Saturday that the fire had grown to 200 acres and that it was difficult for air and ground crews to access in some areas due to steep, narrow terrain.
Forward progress was stopped at 1:47 a.m. Sunday, and the fire was 35% contained, authorities said.
The OCFA also stated Sunday that the Care and Reception Center that opened at the Chino Hills Community Center has been closed. There was still a hard closure for Carbon Canyon Road in both directions from Brea Hills Avenue to Ruby Street.
No injuries or structure damage were reported from the fire.
