Los Angeles County Supervisor Don Knabe took to Twitter Tuesday to let voters know that he has not endorsed a candidate running for one of three Cerritos City Council seats.
“Despite my repeated pleas to stop misusing my name, Sophia Tse continues to send a campaign mailer which implies my endorsement, which I have never given,” Knabe said in a statement he linked to his tweet.
Tse used a letter from Knabe that “I had written to her in a very different context” without permission, the supervisor said.
More of the mailers were delivered to Cerritos residents Monday and Knabe decided to go public with his complaint.
“I am now forced to ask publicly for Ms. Tse to cease using this mailer and to remove my name from any and all of her campaign materials,” Knabe said.
Tse is one of 10 candidates for three Cerritos council seats up for grabs in the upcoming March 3 election.
