Federal, state, county and local offices will be closed Friday in observance of Independence Day.

With July 4 on a weekend, Friday is the designated holiday.

In greater Los Angeles, the closures will include administrative offices, schools and colleges, libraries and recreation centers. Most libraries will also be closed Saturday.

There also will be no mail delivery on Saturday.

Buses and subway services will run on a holiday schedule today. Metrolink trains will not run today except for the Antelope Valley Line from Lancaster to Los Angeles Union Station.

Trash collection schedules will be unchanged in Los Angeles, Glendale and Burbank.
