Mayor Eric Garcetti in scheduled to be in Beijing until Wednesday to take part in what is being billed as a “high-level dialogue” between public and private sector officials from the United States and China.
The dialogue features a “series of meetings with high-level public and private sector counterparts to discuss topics important to both nations, including climate change, energy policies and the furthering of U.S.-China relations,” according to the mayor’s office.
The meetings are organized by the Center for American Progress, a progressive think tank founded by John Podesta, who is also the chair of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign.
Garcetti has attend previous dialogues held in 2009 and 2010, while he was a Los Angeles city councilman.
