The connector from the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway to the eastbound Glen Anderson (105) Freeway will be closed through the winter beginning next week, state transportation officials announced Wednesday.
The long-term closure will begin Sept. 27 and is part of a $4.3 million roadway and embankment repair project that will involve both connectors of I- 105 in the cities of Hawthorne and El Segundo, according to Caltrans.
The project began in March and is expected to be completed in the fall of 2018.
Officials said drivers will be able to detour by exiting the northbound 405 at Imperial Highway and driving east to reconnect with I-105.
