Forecasters predict a warming trend this week in Riverside County with some areas returning to the triple digits.
Saturday highs reached 95 in the Coachella Valley, 82 in the Riverside metropolitan area and 80 in the Temecula Valley, according to the National Weather Service. Evening lows were expected to drop to 71 in the Coachella Valley, 61 in the Riverside metropolitan area and 58 in the Temecula Valley.
Sunday highs were expected to reach 100 in the Coachella Valley and at least 90 in downtown Riverside and the Temecula Valley.
A warming trend is expected through Monday, the NWS announced. The hottest day of the week was expected to be Monday with daytime temperatures near or up to 9 degrees above the seasonal averages, the NWS reported.
On Monday temperatures in the Inland Empire were expected to range from the lower to upper 90s while temperatures in the deserts were expected to return to the low triple digits.
The NWS predicted temperatures will be marginally lower from Wednesday to Saturday with only slight variations day-to-day. The Coachella Valley was expected to linger around 104 degrees while the Riverside metropolitan area was expected to remain in the low 90s and the Temecula Valley was expected to remain in the high 80s.
