Two people were critically injured when a Jeep flew off the Foothill (210) Freeway in Pasadena Sunday, landing 50 feet below the highway near the Metro A Line track.

Personnel were dispatched at 2:27 a.m. Sunday to the westbound freeway, between Rosemead Boulevard and Allen Avenue, said Lisa Derderian, chief communication officer for the city of Pasadena.

Firefighters and paramedics arrived to see the Jeep on its side.

“CHP (California Highway Patrol) reported two victims who were unconscious and unresponsive with one trapped under the Jeep,” Derderian said. “Ultimately both patients were extricated and transported to a local Hospital in critical condition.”

No further information was immediately available.
