Donald Trump won’t be firing anyone anymore from “The Celebrity Apprentice.” He got canned himself from hosting the show.
Joining other networks in reacting to the presidential hopeful’s fraught campaign, NBC formally confirmed Thursday that Trump would not be back next season. Neither will new episodes.
“Currently, NBC is searching for a new host to replace Trump,” Variety said.
NBC President Bob Greenblatt insisted a new host has not been chosen.
“We’re obviously looking for a host of that show that will make noise and will be a big personality. There are a few people out there that fit that bill,” he said, revealing that a number of people have expressed interest in replacing the GOP candidate.
NBC earlier canceled its airing of the Miss USA pageant and owner Trump after his comments about Mexican immigrants.
