
“Straight Outta Compton” went straight to the top of the box office in its opening weekend, collecting $60.2 million, according to final figures released Monday.
The monster opening for the biopic about the formation of rap group N.W.A. pushed Tom Cruise out of first place, as “Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation” fell to second with $17.2 million, according to Rentrak.

Another action-spy thriller, “Man from U.N.C.L.E.,” debuted in third place with $13.4 million.

“Fantastic Four” continued its lackluster performance, collecting $8.2 million between Friday and Sunday, while “The Gift” placed fifth with $6.5 million.
Rounding out the top 10 films at the box office were “Ant-Man” ($5.5 million); “Vacation” ($5.2 million); “Minions” ($5.1 million); “Ricki and the Flash” ($4.6 million); and “Trainwreck” ($3.8 million).
