House Speaker John Boehner isn’t the only celeb announcing his retirement. Country Music Hall of Famer Kenny Rogers did the same Friday morning.

On Twitter, Rogers acknowledged an outpouring of appreciation:
I love you all… thank you. -Kenny http://t.co/wcX86tG738

As a younger man, he said, he crossed the fine line between being driven and being selfish.
Now he wants to spend more time with His five children, including 11-year-old twin sons, Jordan and Justin.
“I really want to be there with my kids,” Rogers said. “They’re very important to me, and I don’t see enough of them.”
“I’m sure I will miss [touring]. I swore that I would do this until I embarrassed myself. I don’t walk around: well, so I’ve found some new humor. My mobility is really driving me crazy.”
The singer’s road trip will include his annual Christmas tour beginning Nov. 11 and ending Dec. 23.
I am confused and slightly offended that @_KennyRogers would announce his retirement without checking with me first. http://t.co/HrniCAjuRp
