David Hasselhoff got another 8 seconds of fame Thursday when he posted a YouTube video of that length in which the former “Knight Rider” star says he’s legally changed his name to David Hoff.

“It’s an excerpt from an ad campaign that launches in Australia this weekend. David is just having some fun and more will be revealed in the next 24 hours,” the magazine says.
Hasselhoff, 63, holds up a certificate showing the name change, but the document looks a little too made-for-web-viewing than legal showing.
Hasselhoff also tweeted the change.
Big news today and a massive relief for me. I hope everyone can understand… it feels great! https://t.co/X48SQzovEi

David Hasselhoff is dropping ‘Hassel’ to be David Hoff. I’m dropping the ‘Van’ to be Bob Dillen. Nobody has had that name before.

I don’t care what the change of name notice says, he will always be “David Hasselhoff” in my heart.
