Spelling, the widow of television producer Aaron Spelling, has been on the association’s board since 2012.
“I have always worked to support children’s and animal issues and am proud to be part of this historic organization, which for 138 years has championed the cause of the most vulnerable.”
Spelling’s “experience, commitment, and lifetime of achievement in helping children and animals make her a powerful voice for the voiceless,” said American Humane Association President and CEO Robin Ganzert.
“We thank her for accepting this vitally important new role, which will benefit those in greatest need and help create a more humane world for all of us,” Ganzert said.
