In the 1997 action flick “Air Force One,” Harrison Ford plays a kick-ass president of the United States. It’s about Russian terrorists who hijack his plane.

Donald Trump expressed admiration for Reagan and other strong presidential actors in a recent New York Times story, saying: “My favorite was Harrison Ford on the plane. I love Harrison Ford — and not just because he rents my properties. He stood up for America.”

At the time of the Dec. 2 report, the Times said: “Mr. Ford, a lifelong Democrat, declined to comment.”

But this week, while being interviewed about “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” by the BBC, Ford turned straight to the camera and said: “Donald, it was a movie. It’s not like this in real life, but how would you know?”

Even so, Trump’s fans noted Ford in the same admiring way.

“In scary times, you want heroes as presidents,” Barbara Hovland, the GOP chairwoman in Mason City, was quoted as saying. “Who doesn’t want a president who can take care of himself, his family and the country at the same time, like Harrison Ford did?”
