Ellen DeGeneres won’t soon forget Monday’s double whammy of good news: being named Favorite Humanitarian at the People’s Choice Awards and having her TV show renewed.
DeGeneres joked that the award “sums me up perfectly as I am both a human and an itarian.”
She also is nominated for Favorite Talk Show Host at the CBS event Wednesday at Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

Meanwhile, “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on NBC out of Burbank has been extended through summer 2020 in a deal with distributor Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution.
The series airs on 10 of the NBC-owned stations, KNBC in Los Angeles.
