Damon “Dame” Dash says his cousin Stacey has a right to her opinion, but her “annoying” comments on Fox News calling for an end to Black History Month and BET Awards shows were a matter of money.

“I think Fox pays her to say that s**t, that’s it,” Dash told Boyce Watkins on WGCI. I know how Fox is. You know how manipulative they are. I think they wanted her to do something that would invoke conversation and she did it. I’m quite sure it wasn’t done for free.”

Jay-Z’s former manager told Watkins: “You know, I’m used to it. Stacey is always going to say something that evokes an emotion, especially when it comes to the culture…its annoying having a cousin that looks like that, and has an opinion and works for Fox News.”

Damon’s theory about why Stacey spouts off on things like end Black History Month?

“I think Fox pays her to say that s**t, that’s it. I know how Fox is. You know how manipulative they are. I think they wanted her to do something that would invoke conversation and she did it. I’m quite sure it wasn’t done for free.”

Meanwhile, comedian Tony Rock was asked whether older brother Chris should host the Oscars amid the outcry over actor categories being all white.

“Tony of course supports his brother hitting the show because he’s getting a big payout, but he goes on the say more about how Black people shouldn’t care about being recognized by racist award shows.” metv reported.

Damon Dash wished Stacey a happy 49th birthday Tuesday, and parried a question on a one-on-one debate with his cousin.

“You don’t want to see that,” Damon said. “I wouldn’t even do that to her, that’s my cousin…I can’t even really go so hard on her but I do [make] her aware of my perspective, from one Democrat to a Republican.”
