Danny DeVito as Pikachu? That’s the unlikely aim of a change.org petition, which is calling on the height-challenged actor to be the voice of the yellow Pokémon character.
“Last week, Pokemon Japan released [a] trailer for ‘Detective Pikachu.’ The trailer features narration by a very deep, booming voice — turns out that’s Pikachu’s voice. When the internet found out that Pikachu would be talking to the player in this new game, a change.org petition was made petitioning for Danny DeVito to voice the English version of the game. The best part? Someone gave us a taste of what a Danny DeVikachu would be like.”

The petition had 40,382 signers as of Tuesday — 10,000 more than a Chicago mom’s appeal “Free my innocent son from a Chinese Prison.”
The petition begins: “There are a number of us that feel as though Danny DeVito would be a prime fit for the voice acting role of the Detective Pikachu. We want to make this happen.”
Some aren’t so sure.
I think the Danny DeVito petition is stupid (no way they’d pay an actor like him for a 10$ game) but this is gold: https://t.co/btxCebmHT9

I made this and now I’m not sure if I want Danny DeVito as Detective Pikachu. pic.twitter.com/NwbLOmYQck

The chances are so low, but the fact that this is a thing makes me happier than a couch giving birth. Devitochu. https://t.co/DM3xtZqNAg
