With digitized spiders crawling over her face, Lady Gaga performed a spectacular but risky David Bowie medley at Monday night’s Grammy Awards. But did she nail the tribute?

Fans included Bette Midler, who tweeted: “Lady Gaga slays it!!! … David Bowie lives. God, I miss him.”

But ET Online and other outlets noted the critique of Bowie’s son, Duncan Jones, who tweeted a definition of gaga:

ET added:

“Ouch! Whatever the tweet may or may not have meant, Gaga received tons of praise for the tribute, which saw her cover 10 of Bowie’s biggest hits — ‘Spade Oddity,’ ‘Changes,’ ‘Ziggy Stardust,’ ‘Suffragette City,’ ‘Rebel Rebel,’ “Fashion,” ‘Fame,’ the bass lick of ‘Under Pressure,’ ‘Let’s Dance,’ and ‘Heroes.'”
