NBC announced it has ordered the fourth element of the Dick Wolf-produced “Chicago” franchise — “Chicago Justice,” about the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office.

The series will star Philip Winchester as an assistant state’s attorney and Carl Weathers, best known for his portrayal of heavyweight boxing champion Apollo Creed in “Rocky” and its first three sequels, will play State’s Attorney Mark Jefferies.

The characters were introduced in Wednesday’s episode of “Chicago P.D.” which won its 10-11 p.m. time slot, averaging 6.75 million viewers, the most for any NBC show for the night, according to live-plus-same-day figures released by Nielsen.

The other elements of the franchise are “Chicago Med” and “Chicago Fire.” Wolf will also produce a fifth series on the 2016-17 NBC schedule, “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.”

NBC is expected to announce its full programming plans for the 2016-17 season on Sunday.
