Justin Bieber’s 86.5 million followers on Twitter are safe — for now. But when the pop star pulled the plug Tuesday on his Instagram account, the Universe shook.

“There is a black hole in all of our lives today,” wrote Seaija Rankin on eonline.com. “When the singer deleted his account early this morning, the world immediately felt a void. Time stood still for a second, making us wonder if a natural disaster was on our hands.”
“Pop star Justin Bieber has deleted his Instagram account, following negative comments from fans and a high-profile series of terse exchanges with ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez. Bieber … was recently embroiled in an online row over his Instagram account. Bieber had posted photos with 17-year-old Sofia Richie.
“But when fans reacted badly (reportedly posting snake emojis to express their dislike of Richie, according to Global News), the 22-year-old star posted the message: ‘I’m gonna make my Instagram private if you guys don’t stop the hate this is getting out of hand.'”
The Guardian noted the numerical loss: The Canadian singer had 77.9 million Instagram followers, followed only 75 users and had posted 3,779 images and videos, according to data from Social Blade, which made him one of the biggest draws for users to the Facebook-owned social media site.
Welcome to the #SelenaEndedJustinParty. We’ve got popcorn. ? https://t.co/wLQCCA7GB0
