Donald Trump lost access to his Twitter account a couple days ago. Perhaps the campaign should do the same for his son, Eric, 36.
Early on Election Day, the younger son of the GOP nominee with ex-wife Ivana tweeted an image of a ballot with his dad’s name filled in.
But as the New York Daily News noted, that’s illegal in New York, with a possible $1,000 fine.
“It is in an incredible honor to vote for my father! He will do such a great job for the U.S.A.! #MakeAmericaGreatAgain,” the proud Trump scion tweeted shortly after 7 am, with a picture of a ballot that had been filled out with his father’s name.
“But a Manhattan federal court judge ruled just last week that a 100-plus year old state law barring people from showing their completed ballots applies to people sharing pictures of them on social media,” the Daily News said.
Later in the day, the tweet was deleted. But not before the image was retweeted at least 3,090 times.
The Twitterverse reacted:
Hey @EricTrump isn’t this against the law?(1 year in prison,1,000 $ fine) Isn’t that why you deleted the tweet?
