
A bank’s creditor’s claim of more than $400,000 against the estate of the late ‘Star Trek’ actor Anton Yelchin, who was alleged to have been delinquent on a 2012 loan, has been approved, court papers obtained Wednesday show.
Luther Burbank Savings filed the claim Nov. 3 in Los Angeles Superior Court. On Dec. 8, Yelchin’s parents, Victor and Irina Yelchin, allowed a payment of $417,498.
The $455,000 loan was taken out by Yelchin on May 17, 2012, according to the claim.
On Aug. 30, Judge Roy Paul issued an order giving Yelchin’s father and mother full authority to oversee the affairs of their son’s estate, which has an estimated value of $1.37 million.
The 27-year-old actor died June 19 when he was crushed by his Jeep Grand Cherokee in a freak accident in the driveway of his Studio City home. He did not have a will.
In August, Yelchin’s parents filed a lawsuit against the automaker in Los Angeles Superior Court, alleging defects in the vehicle led to his death.
Yelchin portrayed Pavel Chekov in the “Star Trek” franchise, including the recent entry, “Star Trek Beyond.”
