McDonald’s was being eaten alive Thursday for the Big Hack — its official Twitter account calling Donald Trump a “disgusting excuse for a president.”

CNET noted that the post was pinned on the account’s feed for half an hour before it was deleted.
“McDonald’s is trending on Twitter with more than 90,000 tweets about the company,” CNET said. “People have been tweeting at McDonald’s, offering to buy 12 McGriddles or 100 McNuggets for the post to go back up.
“It was certainly a quick escalation from McDonald’s previous tweets. Just seven minutes before the presidential diss, the company’s posts encouraged customers to come back for breakfast and asked when another customer would come for a coffee date.”
Twitter notified us that our account was compromised. We deleted the tweet, secured our account and are now investigating this.

The fast-food giant might be red-faced, but it could see green from the flood of publicity, much of it hysterical. And some great conspiracy theories.
