What would fictional Roseanne say about Real Donald Trump and company? Will she be a working-class Trumpette?
(And will her family continue drinking sodas and beer at dinner?)
Answers are at hand, thanks to a “Roseanne” sitcom revival in the works.
Deadline first reported and Variety confirmed that original cast members Roseanne Barr, John Goodman, and Sara Gilbert are “already on board.”
“The project is currently being shopped to both broadcast networks and streaming services,” Variety said. “Tom Werner and Bruce Helford will return as executive producers, with Barr and Gilbert also executive producing.”
“Roseanne” ran for nine seasons on ABC, famed for its portrayal of working class Americans.
“Just like with the upcoming new season of ‘Will & Grace’ — which considered a streaming play before closing a deal at NBC, where the original series had aired — ABC is considered the sentimental choice to air the new Roseanne episodes,” Deadline said.
May 20 is the 20th anniversary of the series finale, which drew 16 million viewers, the site said.
“The family sitcom earned Emmy nominations for Barr, Goodman, Metcalf and Gilbert, with Barr winning one statuette and Metcalf three.”
Not everyone is cheering.

the only detail I’m looking to hear about the Roseanne revival is whether or not we’ll get a Halloween episode.
