O.J. Simpson will make TV history again when his Parole Hearing of the Century is aired live Thursday on ESPN, among other outlets.
The Nevada Board of Parole event in Carson City is part of ESPN’s “Outside the Lines,” whose 90-minute special starts at 10 a.m. Pacific.
Sports Illustrated notes that more than 240 media credentials have been approved to cover the case of Inmate #1027820.
“Simpson could be released as early as October if he gets parole. A decision from the parole board is expected on the day of the hearing,” SI said. “The deliberations will not be public and the parole board will not be available for interviews after the hearing. ESPN has blocked off 90 minutes and has the flexibility to go longer if needed.”
Meanwhile, online betting favors the former USC and NFL star will be paroled after serving nearly nine years for armed robbery and kidnapping linked to a scheme to steal sports memorabilia in 2007.
“As of Tuesday morning, bettors expect the board to grant Simpson parole,” said the Chicago Tribune.
“Under the proposition bet: ‘Will O.J. Simpson be granted parole in 2017?’ the lines are ‘Yes’ (-300) and ‘No’ (+200). The means to make $100 on a bet for ‘Yes’ you would have to risk $300 while a $100 bet for ‘No’ would net you $200, making ‘Yes’ a heavy favorite.”
SI.com writer Jimmy Traina says: “My personal handicapping opinion would be to parlay Simpson being denied parole with Michael Phelps beating a shark.”
Jumping from shark to snark:
Sources say if O.J. Doesn't make parole, Trump will pardon him and appoint him to Dept. of Domestic Affairs.

Amazing. While Trump's presidency is collapsing into madness & chaos, Fox News is devoting breathless, nonstop coverage to…O.J. Simpson.
