Picklegate is taking its turn on the Washington scandal stage as questions arise about the true identity of the 9-year-old who wrote President Trump.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the new White House press secretary, read from a handwritten fan letter supposedly from a boy named Dylan, “but everybody calls me Pickle.”

Many doubted its authenticity, and others shared their own versions of the letter on lined notebook paper.

“So obvious,” said one YouTube comment. “Pickle is really Sean Spicer and he’s trying to get back in Trump’s good graces with a flattering letter.”

Said another: “The ‘child’ named ‘Pickle’ is probably Trump himself. He also pretended to be a publicist named ‘John Miller’ aka ‘John Barron.’”

Although Sanders pronounced the writer’s name as “Dylan Harbin,” the letter didn’t show the spelling, and news media weren’t immediately able to find the child, or his parents, for comment.

But comment galore poured from Twitter.
