Barack Obama now has six of the 10 most-liked tweets in history, thanks to his latest after Saturday’s tragedy in Charlottesville, Virginia.
The former president quoted Nelson Mandela, and by noon Monday, it had 2.3 million “heart” likes — third-most in history.
It was retweeted 974,000 times.
That beat his previous best of July 20, when he said: “John McCain is an American hero & one of the bravest fighters I’ve ever known. Cancer doesn’t know what it’s up against. Give it hell, John.”
The No. 1 liked tweet of all time?
That was Ariana Grande’s note of May 22, when she wrote “broken. from the bottom of my heart, i am so so sorry. i don’t have words,” regarding the Manchester terror attack that killed 23. It had 2.7 million likes.
No. 2 is Ellen DeGeneres’ lighthearted selfie from the 2014 Academy Awards.
