Alec Baldwin reprised Donald Trump, perhaps for the last time, before saying “Live from New York, it’s Weekend Update,” the “Saturday Night Live” lite.
Thursday’s show, called the final summer episode of the “SNL” spinoff, satirized the president’s rally in Phoenix.
“The media has treated me so unfairly by using my exact remarks,” said Baldwin as Trump.
“Wow, everyone’s so white here,” he said as he removed his eclipse glasses.
As in the real rally, a single black man was on stage behind Baldwin.
SNL’s Kenan Thompson was there “because that’s what your ad asked for,” Thompson said.
Also Thursday, SNL announced that Ryan Gosling would be hosting the new season’s premiere on Sept. 30 with musical guest Jay-Z.
“It is unclear in what capacity Baldwin, along with Melissa McCarthy who played Sean Spicer, will be returning to the roster,” said The Hollywood Reporter. “Vanessa Bayer, Bobby Moynihan and Sasheer Zamata all departed the long-running series at the end of last season and no new castmembers have yet been announced.”
