Twitter’s wrath has been unleashed on Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence for saying hurricanes are Mother Nature’s way of punishing certain voters.
Although she never explicitly says Donald Trump’s election brought on the Atlantic and Gulf storms, Lawrence is being credited with that thought.
“It’s scary. It’s this new language that’s forming — I don’t even recognize,” she told to a British TV interview. “It’s scary to know, it’s been proven through science, that climate change is due to human activity. And we continue to ignore it, and the only voice we have is through voting.
“You’re watching these hurricanes now, and it’s hard — especially while promoting this movie [“Mother”], not to feel Mother Nature’s rage and wrath.”
After journalist Jackie Long from Britain’s Channel 4 said the American public had recently voted and selected Trump, who has denied the existence of climate change in the past, Lawrence said the result was “startling.”
