LeBron James turns 35 at the end of 2019, and he can’t play NBA hoops forever, right? So Will Ferrell has a suggestion.
“I went over to LeBron,” Ferrell recounted on “Late Night with Seth Meyers.” I was like, ‘I just have to say hello. How are you?’ And I said, ‘I was just telling my wife the other night that you need to run for president. You’re from the Midwest. You’re very famous, you’re very popular, you’re very articulate. Please run for office.’”
He concluded: “So, LeBron, I’m telling you now … we need you. And I would love some of your shoes.”
But Ferrell wasn’t the first to urge the Son of Cleveland to run for the White House.
According to a Twitter search, the first person to tweet the phrase “LeBron for president” was sports podcaster Phillip Henry on April 22, 2009.

In any case, LeBron Nation was lovin’ it.
