Sen. Al Franken spent $30.30 per vote to get re-elected in 2014, according to Ballotpedia. His 2020 race might cost more, thanks to a Los Angeles radio figure’s allegations.
Leeann Tweeden, morning news anchor on TalkRadio 790 KABC, gave her website a monster bump with a detailed post on her experience with Franken in 2006.
“I felt disgusted and violated,” Tweeden wrote, after complying with a Franken demand to rehearse a USO skit.
“We did the line leading up to the kiss and then he came at me, put his hand on the back of my head, mashed his lips against mine and aggressively stuck his tongue in my mouth,” she said.
Whoops.
Eleven years later, that moment and a gone-viral photo of Franken posing lecherously over a sleeping Tweeden have led to calls for the Minnesota senator’s resignation and blasts of the radio celeb for supposed GOP conspiracies.
Despite Franken’s apologies and Tweeden’s signal she’ll let go of the issue, the scandal has only grown.
All that is reflected in the Twitter chatter.
