Britney Spears, among the most mockable pop stars of a decade ago, apparently is going out on top at 36.
Her final Las Vegas show after a four-year stint at Planet Hollywood, was a segment of “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest.”
The Independent headlined its story: “Britney Spears’ Las Vegas residency was the best thing she ever did for her career.”
Another UK outlet, The Metro, said:
“Brit has kept the love of her fans and the industry at large when all could have been lost so very quickly, planting herself back in the consciousness of pop culture with the same fever she did in 1997,”
“After two decades, that’s why we still love her: we’re all about that never-quit attitude.”
And The Daily Mail said: “The artist was well-received in the gambling hub, and demand led to a projected end total of 249 shows with 900,000 tickets purchased to see the songstress, who’s been dating Sam Asghari, a personal trainer, for more than a year.”
