Actress Olivia Munn was named Wednesday the host of the 23rd annual Critics’ Choice Awards, which will be presented next week in Santa Monica.
“Beyond her skills as an actress, Olivia’s work as an activist within the industry gives her a powerful voice, making her the perfect candidate to lead this night honoring the best and brightest in film and television,” said Joey Berlin, president of the Broadcast Film Critics Association, which presents the awards.
The ceremony will be held Jan. 11 at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica.
Munn is best known for her roles in the series “The Newsroom” and the History Channel’s “SIX.” She also appeared in “X-Men: Apocalypse,” “Office Christmas Party,” “Ride Along 2” and “Magic Mike.” She will next be seen in the thriller “Hummingbird,” “The Buddy Games” and “Ocean’s 8.”
