“Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” chomped its way to the top of the box office race this weekend, with a massive $150 million dollar domestic premiere.

Worldwide, the dinos ran amok to the tune of $711 million dollars in global ticket sales.

“The enduring appeal of the ‘Jurassic’ brand is undeniable,” said comScore analyst Paul Dergarabedian. “The universal allure of dinosaurs remains a worldwide phenomenon.”

And “Incredibles 2” had a “terrific second weekend,” in Dergarabedian’s view. “Incredibles 2” was on track to sell $80 million in tickets this weekend in the United States and Canada, and has $350.3 million in the bank domestically over 10 days.

Counter-programming those two mega-hits, “Ocean’s 8” crossed the $100 million mark in this, its third week of exhibition. It was on track for an estimated $11.7 million in sales domestically this weekend.

Rounding out the 10 most-popular movies in the North American market, as estimated by the studios and gathered by comScore, were “Tag” ($8.2 million), “Deadpool 2” ($5.3 million), “Solo: A Star Wars Story” ($4 million), “Hereditary” ($3.8 million), “Superfly” ($3.4 million), “Avengers: Infinity War” ($2.5 million) and “Won’t You Be My Neighbor” ($1.9 million).
