Despite Christmas being over, Santa Claus is scheduled to make another appearance Thursday in Southern California.
The Polar Express Train Ride returns to the Southern California Railway Museum after a Christmas Day hiatus. The event will be around for another four days, including Thursday, before ending for the season on Sunday.
The train ride re-enacts the classic children’s book of the same name published in 1985, written by Chris Van Allsburg.
The train ride brings the story to life by taking place on an actual train, set to the soundtrack of the 2004 film “The Polar Express,” starring Tom Hanks, which is based on the book.
Passengers will be served hot chocolate and a treat by dancing chefs, enjoy a reading of the original book and receive a silver sleigh bell after Santa boards the train to greet families.
Attendants will lead passengers in caroling and fun holiday activities on the return trip to the station.
The Southern California Railway Museum is located at 2201 A St.
Costs range from $45 to $65.
