Veteran television director Glenn Weiss was named Tuesday the director of the upcoming 92nd Oscars telecast, marking the fifth time he has helmed the show.
According to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Weiss won two Emmy Awards for his previous work on the Oscar telecast, and he won three during his stint on 19 Tony Awards shows.
Weiss has also directed shows such as “The Kennedy Center Honors,” “Billboard Music Awards,” “Peter Pan Live!,” “Dick Clark’s Primetime New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest,” “Primetime Emmy Awards” and “Live from Lincoln Center.”
The Academy Awards ceremony will be held Feb. 9 at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland.
